Coming in April......Gotta have it!!

I just saw the new 5th Anniversary Cricut Expression 2!! I absolutely love it and gotta have it. I will be scraping my pennies (and selling my E) to be able to buy it the day it comes out. I'm also excited about the new Cricut Craft Room. Just what my husband wants....me to be on the computer more than I am now! (Did you hear the sarcasm?!)

A couple of Thank You cards

Last week I made 2 different thank you cards for a couple of my birthday gifts. The first Doily Card (pg. 52) is from the Wild Card cartridge. I selected my favorite colors for this card! I used Fit to page for the envelope which was 6" (I think!!). I set my dial at 6" for the rest of the cuts on the card. For the "Thanks" I used the phrase on page 42 and cut it at 1 inch (real dial size selected). This card was made for my sweet neighbors that brought me some Blackberry Wine for my birthday. YUMMO!

I made 2 of the next cards which were made from Create-a-Critter. I used a pre-made card and added the red strip (cut at 2 inches) and the lady bug cut at 3 inches. I love my Martha Stewart Loops punch so much that I had to use it on the top and bottom of the red strip of card stock. I added a little bit of stickles to the heart and spots on her wings. Her antennae was blinged up with my I-Rock. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Simply Sweet Occasions. These two cards are off to school with me. One is for the other 4th grade teacher I teach with. She got me a great canvas, monogrammed bag and the other card is for a student that brought me a cable-knit scarf and flowers for my birthday. I love my little ladybug card!! It turned out ADORABLE!!

Snow Much Fun Layout

I am already a little behind on my January layouts!! I did get this double layout finished last weekend though and I think it turned out pretty cute. I have about 4 more double layouts to do to scrap all my January 2010 pics. Most of the cuts (except the snowflakes) were from the Winter Frolic cartridge. The snowflakes were from Joys of the Season. I added a journal box in the bottom corner so I can add the details about our fun day in the snow. Of course I had to add stickles for a little sparkle on the girl sledding and snowflakes.  I love how the dots I added to the words remind me of the snow!

My Pink Stamper Honorable Mention!

I'm just a little late on posting the good news, but now's a better time than never!! Friday night during the live Ustream video, Robyn announced her design team. There were over 300 hundred entries submitted. She selected 7 designers from the entries and hand picked the rest for a total of 20 Pink Designers. She had 8 honorable mentions and I am proud to say that I was one of them. I happened to be there with Robyn during her live stream and she asked if I was sad not being selected for the actual design team. Honestly, I am kind of relieved!! Not only is it a lot of work and the term lasting 6 months, but I have just started back to college to work towards my masters degree!! (Tonight was my first night!) Robyn was so kind in letting the honorable mentions choose one of her stamp sets or DVDs. I chose her Cricut Layouts Throughout the Year DVD and it is FABULOUS!!! I am so glad I chose that since my New Year's goal of completing my 2010 album this year. I always knew I loved her work, but REALLY, she blew me away with these layouts. I can't wait to get started. My January pictures are ready to be picked up tomorrow and I hope to get started on them some time this week. So keep checkin' back and see my creations inspired (or copied) by the Pink Stamper!!

P.S. Thanks so much to all that have stopped by to check out my blog, leave a message and follow my blog. I will be having a giveaway when I reach 100 followers!

2011 Goal - Scrapbook 2010!

So I have decided on my crafting goal for 2011. I am going to get the entire year of 2010 scrapped before 2011!!! That might not sound like much to some of you, but I have some major catching up to do. I'm not even half way through Karli's 2008 pictures! :( I have decided to put that on the backburner and I've set a plan into action! I will scrap January '10 pictures this month, February '10 pics in February, March '10 pics in March and so forth. At the beginning of each month I will print off only that month's pictures of last year. Once I am caught up for that month, THEN I will go back to my '08 pictures and work forward. I even thought about doing 2009 and 2010 simultaneously, but I might never get my 2008 pictures done. I want to hear your goal for the new year. Anyone care to join me on my crafting goal for 2011? Thoughts &/or comments are welcomed!

My Pink Stamper Design Team Challenge

My gal, Robyn, over at mypinkstamper.com has 2 openings for her design team based on this challenge. We have to use our favorite cartridge and her favorite colors of pink, green and brown. I have several favorite cartridges, but I remember the excitement that I had when I purchased Life's a Beach. I love the summer and have TONS of lake pictures that I can use with this little gem. It has wonderful beach themed images as well as phrases and the cutest "beachy" font! I am submitting a layout for this challenge. Wish me luck!!

Recipe:
Phrase: letters were 1 3/4"
Flower Border: 2"
Frame: brown layer is 8 1/4", pink is 7" (this is my favorite frame from Storybook)
Mermaid: 4 1/2"
Palm Tree: 5 1/4"

My phrase was welded together using my Gypsy. I added some brown lines on each letter to make it look like palm tree bark. The flowers were cut using the border function. I used Dots embossing folder and Cuttlebugged the brown layer of the frame. I embossed the mermaid's tail with Seeing Spots and the leaves of the palm tree with the Victoria folder. I used an Action Wobble under the mermaid to make her have some movement. Pop dots were used under the coconuts on the palm tree and pink frame. Green gems were added to the dots of the "i"s, and the flowers. The mermaid, leaves on the palm tree and flower border were embellished with stickles.

Here is the finished layout! Comments are welcomed.
