Throwback Thursday - Party Time!!

Over at My Creative Time, Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge is a Birthday Theme. Easy peasy!! It just so happens that I am 2 years behind and my next pics to scrap was a cousin's birthday party. The challenge is to use the Celebrations cartridge, but I don't have it. I went through some of my older cartridges and found Cuttin' Up, which is more of a font cartridge, but had some party hats and some party themed phrases. I also used Everyday Paperdolls to make the little baseball player and baseball border. For the title on the second page, I used the Cuttin' Up font and welded the letter's together. I love Throwback Thursdays and had a fun time putting this layout together! Can't wait to see what next week's challenge will be!!

Hello Kitty Thank You Card

Tomorrow is Karli's last day at Mother's Day Out. She has gone every Tuesday and Thursday in June and July from 9:30 to 4:00. YES, you read right....until 4:00!!! I got to spend a lot of time upstairs in my crop room! I wanted to make her teacher, Miss Kristina, a cute card to let her know how much we appreciate her. Of course I wanted to pull out my Create a Critter cartride, but decided on something different. HELLO KITTY just jumped out at me and I was so excited to use it for only the 2nd time. This cartride has a card function, so every image can be made into a card with ease! I cut her out at 5 inches and the little heart she's holding was the perfect place for a stamp. "Thanks so much" is from the Everyday Occasions Stamp Set from My Pink Stamper. For the inside saying I used the Beyond Birthdays cartridge. I added stickles to her hair bow and dots around the heart. I loved how it turned out and Karli can't wait to give it to her teacher!!

Marcus has a friend that is really going through a tough time right now with his health. He is going to visit him soon and asked me to make a card for him to take. I thought about doing just a plain ol' card that just had a simple sentiment like "thinking of you", but I thought he needed something to bring a smile on his face! So, I went to my favorite Cricut cartridge.....can you guess?....Create a Critter!!! I haven't used this cute little monkey yet and thought it would make the perfect card. It's fun and not so girly!! Of course I had to add a little Stickles glitter to the leaves, but that's it! I used Wild Card for the "Hang in there" and got out my Cuttlebug to emboss the card and sentiment tag.

Throw Back Thursday Challenge with Wild Card

This Throw Back Thursday with Emma from My Creative Time is using the Wild Card cartridge. I was so excited when I bought this cartridge, but I have hardly even used it. I am anxious to see what people will create with it so I can get some inspiration to use it more! We had to create a card with our favorite holiday in mind. Seeing Karli so excited about Christmas last year and of course the birth of Jesus, I had to make a Christmas card. I think the card I picked is more for the Fourth of July, but stars can be for Christmas! Add red (it looks orange in the picture) and green to it and there you go! My gold stickles didn't work out so well, but I had to bling it up some. I thought my matching envelope turned out cute though.

Pink for Monique

Monique Griffith is a fellow crafter and blogger (MonkeyDoodle Cricut) that has been diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. Robyn, from My Pink Stamper, has issued a pink card drive for her. What an uplifting act of kindness. So here is my card that I made her. Inside sentiment says, "With God, all things are possible" and I found a quote from CC Stone "The human spirit is stronger than anything that can happen to it." Sending it to her today in hopes that it will brighten her day!

Tons of Fun!!

I just made another card for a friend that LOVES elephants! I welded the elephant from Create A Critter to make it into a card and used my favorite color, PURPLE, to personalize it. I love her hair accessory with a little pink bling and her bright eyes!The sentiment is from MPS stamps and says "my friend". Didn't know where to place it, but it fit percectly on the cute little trunk.

Chivalry Is Not Dead!

There is a locally owned gas station here in Choctaw, America that is top notch! When I first stopped at Country Boy I thought I pulled in a full service lane. I quickly backed out to find a self-serve and the guy working told me they are all self-serve! They just pump the gas to unescorted ladies...at no extra charge! I have often thought that I should tip them, but didn't know if that was standard. Soooo, I baked them some cookies!! Who doesn't love chocolate chip cookies? I went to my crop room and made some paper bags and cute little tags that are stamped with MPS stamp: Thanks for your service! I am on my way to get some gas and will be taking them cookies in just a bit.

Tri-Fold Cards - LOVE THEM!

I was quite inspired by Erin Lee Creative's Tri-Fold card that she made for the My Pink Stamper design team. I jumped over to her blog and low and behold she had a tutorial on how to make them! I decided to give it a try. I just grabbed some fun paper I had and went to work. It took me a couple of days to mull over how to embellish each card, but in the end I think each one turned out very cute. Now I'm not sure if I can part with them!!! I will just have to make some more!

Just call me "Craftin' Kerri"!

Well, I am on a roll today! I needed to send my sweet friend, Sandra, a new picture of Karli. I haven't seen or talked to her in awhile, so I thought I would also send her a hand-made card. I used my favorite cricut cartridge, Create a Critter, for the little lamb (and giraffe on my last post). I matched my lamb with some cute pink, white and black ribbon, added a little bling to her bright pink hairbows, and used a Martha Stewart punch to the coordinating bright pink strip of paper on the bottom. I stamped it with the sentiment "Miss Ewe" from MPS Punnylicious stamps and Voila! Hopefully she will love the card and I will hear from her soon.

Color Challenge with My Pink Stamper

So today I decided I would participate in the Color Challenge over at The Pink Stamper. The challenge is to create a project using the colors pink, brown, ORANGE, and green. ORANGE.....those of you that know me, know I hate ORANGE (and the reasons why)!! Well, I love pink and brown together and pink and green together, but where does the orange fit in? My first thought was my favorite zoo animal, the giraffe. But then how would I use pink and green? I went to my stash of ribbon (see last post), and found this cute orange ribbon with green polka dots. (Did I just say cute orange?!) That was my inspiration. I figured the dots in the ribbon would work with the dots in my giraffe. Now my thought was how I was going to incorporate pink. Since this was Robyn's (My Pink Stamper) challenge and her favorite color is pink, I would think outside the box and make my giraffe pink! When going through my paper I came across this adorable giraffe printed paper I used for the background! (This is my favorite part about the card.) I included a stacked journal box and added a My Pink Stamper stamp that says "What's Up?" to finish it off. (The top layer is really green, but it looks blue in this picture for some reason.) Robyn will be selecting one entry with random.com to win one of her newest lines of stamp sets called Buggy Puns. Fingers crossed that I win. I really, really want these stamps!!

My messy mess of RIBBONS!

Tammy over at Creative Critters has asked the question of how we scrappers organize our ribbons. Well, I don't! It's one big mess of jumbled up ribbon. I thought I would really like the bag with all the little holes in it to poke the end of my ribbon out. But as you can see...it's not workin' for me! So after looking at all some of the other craftin' girls' method of storing ribbon, I decided I better get organized. I plan on purchasing some of the ribbon cards and storing them in the plastic container. Not sure how long it will work for me, but it's more organized than what I have and definately less messy!
